How To Get Your Kids Eating More Healthily

Do your children’s eating habits drive you crazy?

Are you always trying to convince your kids to eat more healthily? 

As a nutrition geek I find it very difficult when I know my girls aren’t eating properly. I also know that it’s perfectly normal for toddlers to go through phases of surviving on nothing but crackers and fresh air. My first experience of this was when my gorgeous toddler, who would eat ANYTHING as a baby, suddenly started announcing she doesn’t like ‘matoes’ and a range of other cutely mispronounced veggies. She would pick at her meals, then within half an hour ask for a snack. And of course, by snack she meant treats! Chocolate, cheese, crisps, cookies… She rarely asked for anything healthy.

In a way, I see where she was coming from. She was two, and not once had someone whispered ‘a moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips’ in her ear.

She was oblivious to the diabetes warnings and hadn’t found out about sugar crashes.

So, given the freedom of choice, why wouldn’t she simply ask for the food that she thought tasted yummy?
